The AfriValue project, led by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), is an ongoing initiative aimed at providing recommendations to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on East African coffee value chains. The project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, commenced in 2022 and is projected to continue until 2026. The primary objective of NXTNU’s involvement is to integrate design thinking methodologies into scientific research processes. This involves capacity building and coaching as wel as co-designing recommendations through collaboration with an expert consortium comprising stakeholders from the private sector, academia, and politics.

Since October 2023, the Competence Center for Nature Conservation and Energy Transition (KNE gGmbH) has been engaged in an ongoing training and coaching initiative focused on capacity planning and project cordination. The strategic objective of this project is to continually enhance project coordination and capacity management to effectively manage the organization’s portfolio of projects while aligning with the needs of KNE employees.
